Crown Court

Details from past experience for ordering copies of judgments from Crown Court:

  • You have to email the Court and attach (or fax) a formal letter requesting the judgment and your reasons (something along the lines of 'legal research relating to a case we are dealing with' seem to be sufficient). The contact the user dealt with at the [Southwark Crown] Court was jeanette.martin2@hmcourts-service.gsi.gov.uk.
  • The Court then passes your request to Merrill Legal Services. The user's request was granted last week but at the time of posting on Lis-Law, they hadn't yet been able to confirm the cost or delivery timetable with Merrill.

Inner Temple Library has a useful guide to obtaining transcripts - its dated 2006 so take into account that Wordwave has been taken over by Merrill... http://www.innertemplelibrary.org.uk/Guides/Transcripts%20Guide.pdf
