Currency exchange rates

For historical currency information try the following resources:

 

Oanda - http://www.oanda.com/currency/average  - for weekly, monthly or yearly averages for any period since 1990.

             For a specific day (from 1990 onwards) - http://www.oanda.com/currency/converter/ , change the date field to get the rate for any day other than the default of today.

            To get multiple currencies data over a defined period http://www.oanda.com/currency/historical-rates/

 

FT Data Archive - http://markets.ft.com/ft/markets/researchArchive.asp use the drop down boxes to select under Category - Currencies and under Report - Currencies Summary and then the date you require. Contains data from 2008 onwards.

 

HM Revenue and Customs Foreign currency exchange rates http://customs.hmrc.gov.uk/channelsPortalWebApp/channelsPortalWebApp.portal?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=pageVAT_RatesCodesTools provides monthly and weekly rates of exchange from 2003 and historical averages from 1 January 1989

 

Xe.com - http://www.xe.com/ict/ - current and historical rate tables from 16 November 1995 for 85 currencies.
