Old cases - sources

English Reports (ER) - many law reports from the 19th century and earlier were consolidated into this series, available via the Justis and Hein Online subscription services among others. 

The reports have now been added to CommonLII and are available free from - http://www.commonlii.org/int/cases/EngR

For a list of which series are included within the English Reports use the Cardiff Index to Legal Abbreviations.

The English Reports (1220-1873) are also now available on Westlaw - but not in nice PDFs. They are browsable by volume so you may find it easier to use CommonLii to browse by year.
