Update on Statute Law Revision Society: The Warehouse where all the books are stored before being shipped abroad is going to be demolished in the next couple of months. Waiting for planning permission for a new warehouse to be built on a nearby site. As cannot take delivery of any more books at the current warehouse the DX system has been storing them for him but they now have 6 tons of books and cannot store any more. This is why the DX are now returning books to their sender.
Next goal is to stock 100 Law Libraries in India so they ask us to please be patient and try and store books somewhere until deliveries can be accepted again. However if you have a very large consignment of books waiting to send to him please contact him by email.
Email to be sent out when warehouse up and running again on Lis Law and BIALL mailtalk.

Update on statute law revision society: Unfortunately Victor still does not have a warehouse up and running. He said he is still in negotiations but needs to find a sponsor to pay the rent for the warehouse. If anyone knows of someone who may help with sponsorship please let Victor know. Victor still asks for your patience in keeping books for him but understands if you need to find another source to offload your books as he cannot promise a completion date for the warehouse to be made ready.

If you are a member of the BIALL LinkedIn group, there has been a recent discussion on book disposal companies.

Re Whiteadder Trust - from my correspondence with Lionel Amos a few years ago, the books were often sold on Ebay. Extract from an e-mail from him:
"We are a very small undertaking, we are still in the embryonic stages which is being set up to provide useful educational assistance in the old British Empire (the third world) for which there is a crying need & a thirst for education.
The objective of the Trust is to provide educational, material & financial assistance to students in the Carribean & Africa, the former British Empire.
The best analogy we can offer is that of a mini Oxfam; where material comes in, some is retained, the surplus is sold off to defray operating & the very heavy shipping costs & to provide capital for purchases of other materials required. Surplus or unrequired material is certainly sold off on eBay, although is often not sold, sadly many items achieving no bids whatever. You will be aware that this material was often dumped or pulped, as an alternative to our collection."
Whiteadder Trusts is a private limited company, not a charity.
