Response from query for 5yr+ share price data
There are a few free sources - FT.com is a great free source of information, and also includes interactive charts of historical data going back 10 years (though this may not all be available to non-subscribers any more). Google and Yahoo can both help with numerical data, but of course this is free information and should be treated with caution.
The most reliable are both Bloomberg and Hemscott (now Morningstar) (both subscription services) though Bloomberg can give up to 5 years data for free on their website.
The London Stock Exchange can definitely provide this information for a fee - see http://www.londonstockexchange.com/products-and-services/reference-data/hps/hps.htm
You may also want to see the ICAEW's website about historical share prices.
