For obtaining transcripts of proceedings: for information, see:

  • Legal Week article (Plan to charge £250 for Supreme Court documents met with criticism, November 2009)
  • paras 6, 7 and 8 of the UKSC/JCPC User Group Meeting.
  • Note: transcripts are generally not available as they are taken by a transcriber but not usually written up. In some courts the transcriber is essentially freelance and copyright belongs to them and not to the judge or Court. If you need one you will have to contact the Supreme Court for advice on what to do and costings.
